Gettin' Medieval
So, I can't say I've done a ton of Medieval dragons before. I also would say that I wasn't extremely excited about starting this, but within minutes of starting, I had a vision for it. It tuurned out way better than I had originally thought of it. A very happy client = very happy Rob.
The owl, without saying, was great fun. Birds will always be in my all time favorite things to tattoo list. Add clothing and human characteristics, and it gets even better.
My family moved into a house this month. It has a garage. So my motorcycle decided to force me to use said garage by having carburator problems. Many attempts were made. Carburator and Rob became enemies. 2 weeks later, the battle continued. A truce was made, and a great friend of the shop repaired said carburator. Motorcycle and Rob's bond became greater. We are one. We have won.

So, I made my first trip back to San Francisco since I left last year. I left the day after my 30th birthday, and got back today. It was an amazing trip. I saw lots of friends, drank more booze than I have this entire past year in 12 days, and did a slew of tattoos.
I went back to work at Body Manipulations while I was there. It was very nice to see some old clients of mine again. Also to work with Colin Stevens is always a blast. He has some of the best stories I have ever heard, along with the fact that he has put out some of the most amazing and consistant work for two decades. If you live near San Francisco, I highly suggest paying him a visit. You won't regret it.
Here are a few photos from this trip.

A visit
A good client of mine from San Francisco came to Charleston this past week to get tattooed. John is one of my favorites, and he always lets me run with it. He sat like a champ for about 7 hours on monday. I did a pumpkinhead tattoo on him. He is very much into horror movies, so this was a nice addition to his existing work.
His wife Laura is rad as well, and is very much a history buff, so the journey to Charleston was great for both of them. I went with them to tour Fort Sumpter the following day.
So far, making tattoos in Charleston is pretty fun. I'm already seeing some return clientel, which makes my days easier.

... of a new era
So, I will be leaving San Francisco and heading east, to sunny Charleston, South Carolina. I had a wonderful experience working with everyone at Body Manipulations, but it is time for me to move on. I can't thank them all enough for giving me such a pleasant experience.
From July onward I will be working and taking appointments at Holy City Tattoo in West Ashley. If you are in the lowcountry and looking to get tattooed, come see me.

Working Trip

I went to Charleston, SC a couple weeks ago to tattoo at Holy City Tattoo. Good shop, if you are in the area, get some tattoos from these guys. Beautiful city, friendly people, great trip. I got to do some fun tattoos while there. Nate drove all the way from Philadelphia to get a vulture tattooed on his forearm. I am not a photographer, so this is what you get to see. I also tattooed an old high school friend Tim. He is very Irish. He bleeds whiskey. He got a Pooka in horse form.
I also tattooed a good friend, Mike, with a skull hat lady. Mike and I apprenticed together in Augusta, GA 8 years ago. Here they are, I had a lot of fun with these.
Also, a painting I did for Mr. Jason Eisenberg as a gift for hosting me.
